Navy to release proof on warning off US ship if needed

TEHRAN, Sep. 13 (MNA) – Iranian Navy Commander Sayyari said documents on the warning message issued at a US Navy ship nearing an Iranian vessel on Sun. are available and will be released if needed.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said documents containing proof of the warning message issued by Iranian Navy’s Falakhen missile boat to an approaching US Navy ship in the Sea of Oman on Sunday are available and will be released to public if needed.

Sayyari was referring to an incident disclosed on Sunday where Iranian Navy’s Falakhen missile boat, while saving an Iranian fishing vessel which was sinking 45 miles away from Jask Port in the Sea of Oman due to a technical issue with the engine, warned off an approaching US Navy ship. Upon receiving the warning, the US ship was forced to leave the area. 

The Iranian Navy chief went on to stress, “we will issue strong warnings to anyone with any level of power and influence who dares to approach our territorial waters.”
